My name is Susan and I would like to tell you about the "SPARC" behind SPARC jewelry. Each piece is handmade organic and unique. I only use organic materials, semi-precious and precious stones, natural crystals and Sterling Silver. My mother taught me the art of beading when I was a child and I continued throughout the years. But the real inspiration came when I moved to Venice Beach, California in 2001 and started creating custom jewelry as a pastime. Soon I was selling jewelry in all the markets and on the Venice Beach Boardwalk. Back in New York since 2003, I continue to create jewelry retaining my west coast influences and taking in new ideas constantly from inspirations all over New York City. Sparc combines hard-edged, cosmopolitan designs with the opulence and softer influence of the ocean, sand and mountains. I like to mix unusual colors and textures with a fusion of ancient art to provide a constant flow of eye-candy and I take pride In creating each piece to be unique in design. I constantly come up with new designs; my imagination always being fueled by my surroundings. Sparc Jewelry likes to cater to the individual and is always open to new ideas. I like to create designs that will withstand the trends of time creating jewelry you can wear for years, always enhancing your own special beauty. Each piece is made with joy and love. A walk on the beach in Provincetown inspired this particular body of work. I was collecting shells on a sandbar and found these little crab claws that I thought would look interesting cast with little diamonds set-in. My best childhood memories were of being on the Cape in the summer and I guess you could say that this line is dedicated to those memories. My heart will always lie somewhere on the beach on Cape Cod.
