I began making jewelry in 1994, but have been fascinated by the art of jewelry design ever since I was a child growing up in Pensacola,Florida and Magnolia, Arkansas. I started my work with beads, and because I've made it my goal to learn as much as I can about the jewelry business, I have worked for two gemstone/bead companies for over 10 years. I have travelled all over the world doing shows and finding both amazing gems and inspiration. I am also a Silversmith and I strive to create something that is beautiful to wear and that stands apart from standard jewelry. I consider my materials to be my paints with which I can create one of a kind works of art. I draw inspiration from the ocean, from the people who wear my jewelry and even my 5 year old son, Jacob, who inspired my newest line. The pieces I create with words comes from my love of reading, and I find nothing more comforting than creating a piece of jewelry based on a phrase or song that has moved me. When Giving Tree Jewelry invited me to be their 'Artist in Residence' to create one of a kind, exclusive 'pieces with meaning' it was as if my work had found the perfect home. Being able to do custom work for the customers of Giving Tree Jewelry has been such a joy and inspiration for me as an artist, and I am so honored to have the opportunity to help someone express their emotions with the perfect piece of hand crafted, one of a kind jewelry.
